Brine Spin is a whirlpool-themed spinner arcade where you stop a rotating vortex at target alignments. Twenty levels with vortex-speed variation. The format is the carnival spin-the-wheel game with ocean theming.
What works is the visual presentation. The whirlpool rotates with appropriate water-physics swirl. Target zones glow brightly enough to read even at fast rotation speeds.
Twenty levels with vortex speeds increasing per level. Late levels rotate fast enough that timing windows are sub-half-second.
Tested over two Edinburgh National Library afternoon sessions. Touch tap is the natural input. Mouse-click also works.
Where the game starts to feel thin is the absence of mechanical variation. Every level uses the same stop-the-vortex mechanic. No power-ups, no multi-target levels, no chain-multipliers. After fifteen minutes the format has nothing more to offer.
Where I would push back is the campaign length. Twenty levels is short. Sixty levels with mechanic variations would have justified the visual investment.
Three stars. Functional whirlpool-spinner arcade with limited depth. Worth a short session.
