Editor review
Tidewave Loop is a loop-collection underwater arcade. Swim through wave loops to gain speed and collect pearls. Forty levels across four ocean themes.
What works is the loop-boost feedback. Each successful loop triggers a brief speed surge with appropriate visual effects. The reward feels immediate and motivating.
Forty levels with looping geometry. Each level has a perfect-loop route that connects most pearls; sub-optimal routes miss pearls but still reach the finish.
Tested over four Waverley Station commute rides on the Edinburgh-North Berwick line. Touch swipe is the natural input. Keyboard arrow keys work on desktop.
Where the design earns its rating is the optional perfect-route challenge. The campaign can be completed without hitting every loop, but the leaderboard times require near-perfect routing.
Where I would push back is the absence of weather variation. All levels have calm conditions. Adding storm levels with shifting wave loops would have varied the format.
Three-and-a-half stars. Solid loop-collection underwater arcade with thoughtful speed-boost feedback. Recommended for arcade fans.
